Job summary

Sage Engineering Associates, LLP seeks both entry level and experienced Mechanical Engineers to join our growing team. You will design HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial projects and collaborate with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities include load calculations, preparing drawings, reviewing codes, site visits, and ensuring project success with senior engineers. A strong team player with CAD proficiency and interest in sustainable design is ideal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• HVAC design coursework and/or Thermal and Fluid System design.
• Excellent verbal, written and computer skills.
• Ability to perform under time constraints.
• Intern or Coop experience a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit a plus.
• Interest in renewables and sustainable, high-performance buildings.
• Ability to work in a team and learn from Senior Engineers.
• Comfortable interfacing with clients and industry peers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for new and existing buildings.
• Conduct heating/cooling load calculations and prepare equipment selections.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Review and implement applicable Building Codes.
• Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and material samples.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, construction observations and system performance.
• Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and building owners to ensure project success.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies and industry standards.
