Job summary

Ventura Transfer Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support engineering and facility projects under the Director of Maintenance, Facilities & Engineering. The role focuses on designing equipment for safe transfer of chemicals, creating CAD drawings and SOPs, and training personnel.

You will maintain technical databases, support operations with specs and calibration, and participate in safety audits to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of SOPs.

Qualifications

• Design equipment for safe, high-volume transfer of hazardous and non-hazardous liquids/dry bulk chemicals.
• Create as-built CAD drawings and SOPs; prepare training and certification materials.

Responsibilities

• Design equipment for safe high-volume transfer of hazardous and non-hazardous liquids and dry bulk chemicals.
• Participate in design-fabrication from concept to completion, including CAD drawings, SOPs, training, and certification of operating personnel.
• Store and maintain technical databases containing designs, operation and vendor information.
• Support operations with equipment specs, calibration, safety, training, and maintenance.
• Understand and manage risks associated with hazardous chemical handling.
• Troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement of SOPs and equipment systems.
• Maintain office, facility, terminal structures, roads and rail track systems; participate in audits.
