Job summary

Ventura Transfer Company seeks a loader to transload liquid and dry bulk products daily for rail-to-truck operations. This role includes heating railcars and trailers, loading/unloading, railcar inspections, and equipment maintenance.

You will read complex paperwork, communicate with teammates, and follow SOPs and PPE requirements. A High School Diploma and ability to handle hazardous chemicals, plus comfort with heights, are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Must be comfortable handling hazardous chemicals and not afraid of heights.
• Able to understand mechanical processes, diagnose and solve problems.
• Able to read and interpret complex paperwork and data such as chemical names, order numbers, and rail car numbers.
• Strong English communication, both verbal and written.
• Able to multi-task and manage shifting priorities.
• Reliable and able to work varied schedules.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate loading/unloading of liquids and dry bulk from railcars into tank trucks/shipping containers.
• Operate equipment including boilers, compressors, air dryers, pumps, meters.
• Perform railcar inspections and equipment maintenance.
• Read and interpret paperwork and follow SOPs to ensure safe, correct loads.
• Coordinate with other departments on schedules and communicate work times.
• Maintain inventory of fittings and loading equipment.
