ButterflyMX is seeking a stellar Mechanical Engineer to design and support the hardware products, reporting to the SVP Hardware and leading all mechanical, physical, and thermal aspects from concept to production.

You will work on-site at our Southern California hardware lab with a high-performance team, translating requirements into manufacturable solutions while addressing reliability, cost, and fit within the product roadmap.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with sheet metal, cast and machined components.
• Solid understanding of mechanics, thermodynamics and fundamentals.

Mansioni

• Own mechanical design from requirements through production, including enclosures and components.
• Translate requirements into robust mechanical solutions meeting functional, durability and manufacturability needs.
• Prototype, test, and iterate concepts using 3D printing, CNC, and soft tooling.
• Design for extreme conditions; apply FEA and physical testing for validation.
• Lead mechanical design reviews and communicate design intent and risks.
• Collaborate with product, electrical, QA, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for unresolved gaps.
• Engage with manufacturing partners on DFM/DFX and tooling.
• Maintain complete design documentation and change control.
• Deliver designs on time; track milestones and risks.
• Participate in meetings with clear mechanical engineering input.
• Drive innovation with new materials and manufacturing techniques.
• Simplify designs to reduce cost and complexity.
