Job summary

Douglas Manufacturing Co. in Alabama is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team.

You will design components and assemblies, support quoting and manufacturing, and help bring ideas from concept to production on the floor. You will create 2D drawings and 3D models (SolidWorks preferred), develop BOMs and routings in AX/D365, and work with Production to ensure accurate documentation and cost inputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and strong engineering documentation.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP familiarity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers.
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 2D drawings and 3D models (SolidWorks preferred) with detailed manufacturing prints and revisions.
• Support new product development, R&D efforts, and engineering changes for existing products.
• Provide product selection and application support to internal teams and customers; assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Work with Production leadership to ensure shop teams have current drawings, specifications, and documentation needed to build orders correctly.
