PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for designing fire protection systems for projects of all sizes, from schematics to construction administration.

TYPICAL DUTIES

• Develop fire protection concepts and documentation throughout the project lifecycle, from schematics to construction.
• Oversee project team members and delegate fire protection tasks.
• Prepare and monitor project work plans.
• Conduct and document code research relevant to the project.
• Participate in project meetings as needed.
• Coordinate regularly with other disciplines.
• Review documents and submittals during bidding and construction phases.
• Ensure quality of architectural and engineering services within the project team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Professional Fire Protection Engineer license required.
• Authorized to sign and seal fire protection work.
• Minimum of ten years' experience in the A/E industry.
• Extensive experience in fire protection design.
• Proficiency with Revit software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational abilities.
• Ability to motivate and mentor staff and delegate tasks effectively.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
• Ability to work well under deadlines and collaborate with others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to travel to project sites for meetings and inspections.
• Access to existing and new project sites for observation and assessment.
• Use of communication and documentation equipment.
• Visual acuity to perform job responsibilities.
