Job summary

AUGUSTA FIBERGLASS COATINGS INC in South Carolina is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Estimator for a direct hire near Aiken. The role combines design engineering, project management and estimating for FRP tanks and related equipment.

You will read drawings, perform material takeoffs, and prepare cost estimates while coordinating with customers and the sales team. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; proficiency with Excel and MathCad is preferred, and familiarity with ASME,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) from an accredited university.
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings, performing material takeoffs, and understanding construction specifications.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel.
• Ability to communicate technical engineering information to non-technical professionals and customers.
• Experience using MATHCAD.
• Knowledge of / experience with engineering Codes & Standards including ASME, ASCE and IBC

Responsibilities

• Provide cost estimates for FRP products (tanks, pipe, duct, hoods, scrubbers, process equipment, stacks).
• Provide technical assistance to the sales team regarding quotes and bids.
• Interface with clients regarding scope, standards, scheduling and pricing.
• Analyze technical data, design specs, manufacturing and equipment availability.
• Review quotes and purchase orders to clarify requirements and pricing.
