Job summary

1HMX / AIS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive end-to-end mechanical and electromechanical designs from ideation through qualification and into production. Projects will range from internal innovations to collaborations with world-leading brands.

Technologies include plastic molding, elastomerics, machining, metal forming, and stamping. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 3+ years of product design experience, with strong CAD (SolidWorks) and EMC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of product design experience.
• Experience designing multi-part mechanisms and mechanical/electromechanical assemblies.
• Strong analytical abilities in stress and thermal analysis.
• Experience with plastic, elastomer, and metal part design and fabrication.
• Familiarity with designing for EMC compliance.
• Rapid prototyping experience.
• Electronic packaging experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs architectural and detailed mechanical/electromechanical design utilizing 1HMX technology to exceed customer requirements and specifications.
• Assists in performing costing activities to support sales growth.
• Works with customers to help establish design definitions.
• Innovates and helps develop 1HMX value and technical capabilities.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of design standards and best practices.
• Coordinates mechanical/electromechanical design activities with the responsible Project Manager.
• Reviews designs with Manufacturing to ensure the product is manufacturable.
• Responsible for the mechanical/electromechanical facets of assigned projects through production.
• Lead reliability and testing of designs.
• Participate in technical design review meetings.
