Role Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the development, introduction, and ongoing production of AIS products by designing, optimizing, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes. This role serves as the bridge between product design and production operations, ensuring products are manufacturable, reliable, and cost-effective. The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and mechatronic systems, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), continuous improvement, and troubleshooting of production challenges.

Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to support NPI and ongoing production.
  • Partner with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability, testability, and compliance with product requirements.
  • Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, assembly procedures, and tooling requirements.
  • Support and trouble-shoot products that have been released to full-rate production.
  • Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and transition to full-rate production.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement improvements to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) and Non-Conforming Material (NCM) processes; support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCCA/CAPA).
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure products meet industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Lead or participate in Lean/continuous improvement initiatives.
Production Support
  • Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting production equipment, test systems, and product assembly issues.
  • Provide technical training and support for production operators and technicians.
  • Document processes, routings, and nonconformances in the ERP system (Syteline) and manufacturing assembly procedures.
  • Develop and optimize programs for automated production equipment (e.g., adhesive dispensing systems) to support repeatable, high-quality builds.
  • Interface with customer portals and product qualification/test systems to support NPI activities and production releases.
Qualifications
Required
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience supporting both product development and production operations preferred.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., PCB assembly, machining, wiring, electromechanical assembly).
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with eCAD preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, calipers, torque tools, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, DFM/DFA, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, or mechatronic systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to guide manufacturability and process decisions.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems (Syteline experience a plus) for production documentation and data management.
  • Understanding of ESD control practices and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred
  • Experience in NPI environments and supporting full product lifecycle.
