Job summary

Molex is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and support mechanical solutions for electronics assembly products. You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to optimize designs and processes from concept through production.

You will work with SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD, contribute to continuous improvement, and participate in design reviews while traveling up to 10% to support projects and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required).
• Experience supporting mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, or process improvement in electronics assembly/manufacturing.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD or similar).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical assemblies, drawings, and GD&T principles.
• Experience communicating and working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Design/drafting support for new and legacy products under the direction of the Principal Engineer.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and optimize production scalability.
• Develop mechanical solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operations.
• Evaluate manufacturing challenges and implement innovative, reliable improvements.
• Create 2D/3D assembly/component drawings using CAD and adhere to change procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on assembly processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment performance.
• Support product/process validation to ensure quality, performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize designs, methods, and costs.
• Contribute to design reviews, problem-solving, and strategic engineering initiatives.
• Promote safety, innovation, and operational excellence; travel up to 10% as needed.
