Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Albuquerque Hypersonics office to design and develop electromechanical assemblies and supporting parts, working with electronics enclosures, packaging, mobile platforms, and 3D printed components.

The role requires a Master’s degree or BS with extensive experience, hands-on electromechanical skills, 3D CAD in SolidWorks/Creo, and an active DoD/DOE security clearance; relocation to Albuquerque, NM is expected for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in related field with 10 years of experience or BS degree and 12 years of expereince.
• 5 years of applicable experience or internships
• Mechanical design experience
• 3D CAD and 2D drawing experience
• Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems
• Must possess active DOD S (DOE L) or higher security clearance.
• Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Albuquerque, NM area.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electromechanical assemblies and supporting parts, including: Electronics enclosures and packaging, mobile platforms, machined and sheet metal parts, 3D printed parts.
• Contribute to program planning, risk mitigation, and requirements development.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers, technicians, and program staff to deliver unique solutions, on time.
• Document and present ideas accurately and concisely at design reviews.
