Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Dewatering Engineer to plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of mining water management projects on site in Nevada. The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and delivering reliable dewatering solutions.

The successful candidate will work with operations, environmental, safety, and project teams to define scope, justify designs, forecast costs, and support procurement and commissioning of wells and pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Familiarity with PMI PMBOK knowledge areas and stage-gate project steps preferred.
• Knowledge of DROM and OR principles preferred.
• Project management knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with managing contractors and contract management is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Inventor is preferred.
• Familiarity with wireless data transfer and communications; installation, data collection/output.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and lead project definition, scoping, costing, approval, design, permitting and construction activities of mining and processing infrastructure projects.
• Execution of some aspects of small and medium sized projects, including planning, justification, engineering, and design.
• Forecasting project costs
• Assist in providing design input to engineering consultants
• Assist in coordinating efforts internally within Nevada Gold Mines during planning, design, construction, and commissioning of wells
• Initiate regular communication with operations, environmental, safety, project sponsor and stakeholders
• Assist in procurement of equipment, supplies, and contracts
• Ensure projects are designed and constructed with safety being the highest priority
• Provide input into the Annual Environmental Report which goes to the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP)
• Formulate project parameters, and assist in monitoring progress to address constraints;
• Act as primary liaison between the project execution team and the design engineering team;
• Support project execution through project controls, cost forecasting, scheduling, quantity surveying and reconciliation and earned value management;
• Water pump sizing and selection
• AC Transformer sizing and selection
• Water pipeline design.
• Pumping data collection and reporting
• Assist with wireless communication infrastructure and automation projects
