Job summary

NVIDIA in Santa Clara is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help in writing, designing, testing, and manufacturing mechanical parts and assemblies. The chosen candidate will collaborate with experienced engineers, suppliers, and various departments to create reliable and effective mechanical solutions from concept through production.

The role requires 3D CAD experience (Creo/SolidWorks/CATIA/NX), GD&T, and tolerance evaluation, plus knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience with 3D CAD software: Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX, plus GD&T and tolerance evaluation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, or SMT assembly is a plus
  • Experience in engineering, validation, testing and failure analysis is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and advancement of mechanical components, fixtures, jigs, and assemblies.
  • Build and modify 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering validation, and compose verification testing.
  • Analyze mechanical failures and participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Work with manufacturing teams to improve product quality, manufacturability, and production yield.
  • Support supplier qualification, technical reviews, and engineering change implementation.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up, DFM (Build for Manufacturability), and DFA (Build for Assembly) analyses.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, including specifications, test reports, BOMs, and build guidelines.
  • Participate in build reviews and cross-functional meetings with electrical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and mass production ramp.
