Job summary

Viper Northwest in Albany, Oregon seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support design, development, and manufacturing of custom components and assemblies for diverse customers. The role collaborates with customers and internal teams to transform drawings and concepts into manufacturable products, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.

Strong CAD skills and hands-on machining exposure are valued. Applicants should have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 3–5 years of design/manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and Inventor.
• Experience reading and interpreting Engineering drawings.
• 3-5 years of experience with an emphasis in design and manufacturing.
• MRP / ERP experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and thermodynamics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with engineering standards and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain MRP / ERP data relating to Engineering.
• Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and equipment.
• Sheet metal design / build to print.
• Build to print manufacturing.
• Create engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, or Inventor).
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and feasibility studies.
• Conduct testing and analyze performance to improve product reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to ensure successful product development.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
• Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources when required.
