Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), a leading engineering design, consulting and planning firm, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to small to mid-size projects under senior guidance in Dallas, TX.

You will apply standard design techniques, perform analyses, coordinate with architects and other disciplines, mentor junior staff, and help ensure code compliance while supporting project management and client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) with four years of design experience.
• Licensed/Registered Professional Engineer (PE) expected or required.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard design engineering techniques on small projects or portions of larger work.
• Support analyses, drawings, coordination, and client communication under senior guidance.
• Develop design concepts with input from the EOR; perform studies and analyses using industry software.
• Coordinate with architect and other disciplines; review shop drawings and ensure standards.
• Attend meetings with owners/clients/architects; document decisions and action items.
• Coordinate with authorities and municipalities to incorporate codes and regulations.
• Mentor designers and EITs; support project managers and schedule progress.
