Job Description

Leading a multi-disciplinary team, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Department Manager for our Detroit team!

Responsibilities:

1. Work with Project Managers within the organization
2. Create work plans and estimates for department staff projects
3. Ensure work meets QA/QC standards and client expectations
4. Supervise projects and staff
5. Meet performance metrics and goals
6. Prepare proposals and administer project contracts
7. Maintain backlogs and manpower forecasts for proper staffing and department utilization
8. Perform annual reviews and approve timecards and expense reports for staff
9. Assist Human Resources with recruiting and training
10. Participate in various trade organizations
11. Assist with business development

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. 8+ years of mechanical design experience in a consulting environment
3. Experience designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects
4. Professional Engineer (PE) License
5. Working knowledge of Revit
6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Salary is commensurate with experience.
