Job summary

Genuine Search Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our custom automation and machine tool design team in Dayton, Ohio. You will lead mechanical design from concept through production on automated machinery, collaborating with controls engineers and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable systems.

You will apply DFM/ DFA principles, develop 3D CAD models, and support build, testing, and customer acceptance, while managing multiple projects and striving for cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing custom automated machinery or machine tools.
• Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
• Experience managing multiple engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Familiar with DFM and DFA principles; pneumatics, servo systems, motion control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom automated machinery and machine tools.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
• Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Apply DFM to improve manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
• Collaborate with controls engineers on sensors, robotics, and motion systems.
• Support build, testing, and customer acceptance activities.
