Job summary

Engtal is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Dayton area to design and develop large-scale machinery and fluid-handling equipment. You will focus on mechanical aspects of bases, frames, and assemblies, blending hands-on design with concept development for custom systems.

The role requires strong SolidWorks skills, a solid grasp of power transmission and machining, and the ability to work independently on site with cross-functional teams on manufacturing floor projects.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with SolidWorks 2024 or later is required.
• 5+ years of SolidWorks design experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including power transmission, weldments, and machining.
• Familiarity with industrial sensors and limit switches.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Able to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify mechanical structures, machine bases, frames, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Adapt existing designs to meet project requirements and configurations.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to power transmission, weldments, and machining aspects.
• Incorporate sensors and switches into equipment designs.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Manage design deliverables to meet project timelines.
