Job summary

Air Products in Allentown, PA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the SPS - Mechanical and Machinery Engineering Team, supporting Bid and Project Development, Project Execution, and Product Development. You will review equipment specs, develop piping/class material specs, and ensure compliance with ASME codes, while collaborating with Operations, Maintenance and Vendors.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience, travel around 10%, and a commitment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of pressure vessels, piping, valve selection, and ASME Section VIII and ASME B31.3 Piping Codes is required.
• Experience supporting Operations, Maintenance and Plant equipment.
• Ability to review vendor documents and develop equipment specifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Support Prism Hydrogen Generators (PHG), O2 VSA, N2 PSA, HPN, and H2 PSA product lines.
• Develop piping class material specifications and inline components.
• Review customer requirements and modify product design as needed.
• Create vendor document lists and review vendor documentation.
• Ensure piping and vessel designs comply with ASME and International Codes.
• Use Compress Software to verify vendor vessel design.
• Conduct mechanical reviews of P&ID diagrams and select piping material specs.
• Support operations and maintenance on equipment issues and upgrades.
• Assist startup, commissioning, and shop checkout of plant equipment, on-site or remotely.
