Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op in Missouri (Chesterfield). You will work with a team to provide mechanical engineering designs for large-scale capital projects and support multiple sites and projects concurrently, collaborating with other engineers to ensure safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Must have completed at least 1 year of a Bachelor's program.
• Preferred GPA 3.0 or higher.
• General mechanical aptitude and ability to apply engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project mechanical specifications and summaries for design packages.
• Review equipment vendor drawings and support construction activities at manufacturing sites.
• Support engineers in development of mechanical equipment specifications and construction drawings.
• Contribute to equipment checkout plans and startup at manufacturing sites.
• Apply basic project management to coordinate tasks, timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers and project team to solve problems.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering

Completed at least 1 year of Bachelor’s program

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to work in a team
