Job summary

Olin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op for Fall 2027 across multiple locations including Niagara Falls, NY. You will support maintenance and production with reliability, design, and maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations.

This rotation offers hands-on project leadership and exposure to capital projects. The role requires full-time availability during rotation, TWIC eligibility, a valid driver’s license, and an engineering student maintaining a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering degree program.
• Must have an overall GPA 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times; transcript required each term.
• Must have completed sophomore year (or 60 credit hours) prior to first rotation.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours a week) during rotation; Not eligible for virtual work.
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC and possess a valid US Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, defined at rotation start.
• Provide reliability leadership for rotating and fixed equipment (pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping, tanks).
• Support maintenance in development of policies and procedures for preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Participate in plant turnarounds, update P&IDs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary: $30.00 / hour

Focus: The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op supports maintenance and production with reliability, design, and maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role can serve as the engineering representative on capital projects including justification, obtaining approval, ordering, and installation processes and equipment.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, to be defined at the beginning of the rotation based on department and business need.
• Provide reliability leadership for rotating (pumps, compressors) and fixed (heat exchangers, piping systems, and process tanks) equipment
• Support maintenance in development of policies and procedures for preventative and predictive maintenance
• Participate in plant turnarounds, update P&IDs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What You'll Bring:

• Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering degree program
• Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations.
• Must have completed sophomore year (or 60 completed credit hours) prior to first rotation with Olin
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours a week during normal business hours) during rotation; Not eligible for virtual work
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
