Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems is offering a Process Controls Engineer Co-Op (Fall 2027) in Freeport, TX and Plaquemine, LA. The role focuses on developing and maintaining process control systems to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will lead projects, learn programming and instrumentation, and work with vendors to validate control systems, with a housing stipend available for students.

Qualifications

• Must be an enrolled student in an accredited college/university majoring in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times; official transcript required each term.
• Sophomore year completed (60 credits) prior to first rotation with Olin.
• Full-time availability (40 hours/week) during rotation; not eligible for virtual work.
• Must obtain TWIC and possess a valid US driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects during the term.
• Develop knowledge of programming, instrumentation and control systems with engineers and vendor docs.
• Create and validate DCS graphics, test control code and plan setups for DCS equipment.
• Support training, troubleshooting and continuous improvement through data analysis.

Title: Process Controls Engineer Co-Op (Fall 2027)

Locations: Freeport, TX; Plaquemine, LA

Salary: $30.00 / hour

Housing Stipend Available

Focus: The Process Controls Engineer Co-Op supports maintenance and production with the development, implementation, and maintenance of process control systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, to be defined at the beginning of the rotation based on department and business need
• Develop knowledge of programming, instrumentation, and control systems by collaborating with engineers and reviewing vendor documentation
• Develop DCS graphics, validate control code, and test plans for DCS equipment, including servers and workstation setup
• Support training, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts through data analysis and maintenance of standards and procedures
  

What You'll Bring:

• Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering degree program
• Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations.
• Must have completed sophomore year (or 60 completed credit hours) prior to first rotation with Olin
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours a week during normal business hours) during rotation; Not eligible for virtual work
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
