Job summary

Innova Solutions in Amityville, NY is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical) for a 12-month contract-to-hire role. You will design and test mechanical/electro-mechanical components, prepare specifications, and collaborate across engineering and operations.

Onsite 1st shift in Amityville, NY 11701. The ideal candidate has a BS in mechanical engineering with 4+ years of experience, Creo CAD proficiency, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience.
• Proficient CAD design with ability to create 2D drawings.
• Creo experience preferred for part/assembly modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic structural analysis using hand calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical/electro-mechanical components or systems.
• Prepare design specifications, analyses and recommendations for approval.
• Analyze mechanical requirements for feasibility within time and cost constraints.
• Investigate solutions to product or process problems.
• Consolidate results of mechanical design elements for projects.
• Product development activities including drawing board layout and customer specs interpretation.

A client of Innova Solutionsis immediately hiring a Mechanical Engineer.
Position Type: Full time Contract, Contract to Hire
Duration: 12months
Location: Amityville, NY 11701(Onsite/1st Shift)
As a Mechanical Engineer you will:

• Responsible for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical components or systems.
• Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval.
• Analyzes mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Investigates solutions to product or process problems.
• Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects.
• Performs product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.
• Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.
• May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
• Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
• Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
• Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.

Essential Functions:

• Provide creative and innovative design solutions that meet product requirements for high performance, high pressure pneumatic mechanisms/systems.
• Work closely with a broad team from engineering and operations to collaborate on effective solutions to design challenges.
• Support conceptual and detail design processes by using your background in CAD design
• Provide support to structural and thermal analysis tasks including first order hand calculations and FEA.
• Present data in design review settings (e.g. PDR, CDR), both internal and external
• Provide strong contributions to the overall product design dialogue from inception through production.
• Provide hands‑on support during development, prototyping, integration and test activities.
• This role requires your presence on-site in Amityville, New York

Ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Degree to be in mechanical engineering or a related field
• CAD design skills, including part, and assembly‑level modeling in a mechanical design software preferably Creo.
• CAD drafting skills with the ability to interpret and create 2D drawings
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
• Basic knowledge of structural analysis methods using hand calculations
• Manage small to medium projects or processes that are both inside and outside of immediate job area.

This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W-2 basis.

Pay Range*: $50-$55/hr

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
