Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical systems for diverse building typologies, coordinate designers, and work with Project Managers to ensure on-time delivery. The role emphasizes code compliance, QA/QC, and critical collaboration across disciplines in a dynamic, employee‑owned environment.

Ideal candidates have a PE license and 3+ years of experience in commercial or institutional mechanical design, with familiarity in healthcare, labs, data centers, or federal facilities;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional engineering license (PE) required or recognized by licensing board.
• Experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
• Experience with healthcare, laboratory, data center, aerospace, or federal facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical design team across schematic design and contract document phases.
• Design mechanical systems for various building typologies.
• Coordinate with agencies for code compliance and reviews.
• Manage workload to meet project schedules.
• Conduct QA/QC on work of peers and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Prepare and edit mechanical specifications and select equipment.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
