Vast is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Avionics (New Grad) in Long Beach, CA to design, build, and test avionics enclosures and mounts for space hardware. You will collaborate with the electrical team to package rugged PCBs and contribute to qualification activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, documentation, and analysis, including 3D CAD design, GD&T, and basic thermal/structural analysis, with opportunities to grow in a cutting-edge space program.

Qualifikationen

• B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering, physics, mathematics, or related field.
• Coursework, project, or internship designing mechanical components or systems.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD and FEA software through coursework or internships.
• Understanding of GD&T fundamentals (ASME Y14.5).

Aufgaben

• Design avionics enclosures, mounts, and brackets for batteries and crew hardware.
• Package rugged PCBs with electrical engineering team.
• Perform thermal and structural analyses for harsh environments.
• Create engineering drawings and maintain design documentation.
• Contribute to trade studies and write interface/spec documents.
• Plan and run tests; collect data; support qualification of flight hardware.
• Verify requirements through test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration.
• Work hands-on with technicians to build and install hardware.
