Job summary

You will create 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks, perform analyses, collaborate with electrical and controls teams, and support prototyping and DFMA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of hands-on mechanical product design experience, preferably with automation or integrated systems.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling, large assemblies, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with PLM/PDM software (SolidWorks PDM, Teamcenter) for data management and revision control.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Product Design: create detailed 3D models, large assemblies, and 2D drawings using SolidWorks; ensure design intent matches fabrication capabilities.
• Automation & Integration Design: design mechanical structures and mountings for integrated automation systems and fluid/thermal routing.
• Engineering Analysis: perform mechanical, thermal, fluid, and structural analyses (FEA/CFD) to validate designs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with electrical, controls, and software engineers to integrate mechanical components with automation hardware and sensors.
• Prototyping, Testing & DFMA: build/test prototypes with NPI; optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly.
• Documentation & Data Management: generate BOMs, ECOs, and system design reviews.
