Job summary

Bay Advanced Technologies in Newark, CA seeks a Mechanical Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience to own design, analysis, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems and automated machinery from concept through fabrication and integration. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks, GD&T per ASME Y14.5, and have PLM/PDM experience.

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and experience in automation or data centers is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of hands-on mechanical product design experience, preferably with automation or integrated systems.
• Proficient SolidWorks 3D modeling, large assemblies, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience using PLM/PDM software (SolidWorks PDM, Teamcenter) for data management.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Product Design: create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
• Automation & Integration Design: design mechanical structures for integrated automation systems.
• Engineering Analysis: perform mechanical, thermal, and structural analyses to validate designs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with electrical, controls, and software engineers for system integration.
• Prototyping, Testing & Fabrication Support: build and test prototypes with NPI and fabrication teams.
• Documentation & Data Management: generate BOMs, ECOs, and design reviews.
