SpaceX in Bastrop, TX, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Insource Manufacturing team supporting Starlink. You will own critical manufacturing equipment from concept to high‑volume production, drive system optimization, and lead cross‑functional design and test efforts in a fast‑paced factory environment.

Responsibilities include FMEA, reliability modeling, and OEE improvement; collaboration with design, manufacturing, and test teams; and hands‑on work with mills, lathes, and CNC machines

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials, or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience with mechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing.
• 1+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
• Experience with custom machine design including electromechanical systems, end‑of‑arm tooling, motors, actuators, linear rails, bearings, and lifting/rigging.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (Siemens NX preferred) and Teamcenter.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, mechanical fundamentals, structural analysis, and failure modes of complex systems.
• Ownership of a component or assembly from initial design through production ramp.
• Experience with manufacturing processes (welding, machining, assembly) and design for manufacturability.
• Hands‑on experience with mills, lathes, manual and CNC machines.
• Familiar with FEA, hand calculations, and sizing of mechanical components.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and self‑motivation.
