If you have experience with AST / UST fuel systems and construction management—we want to talk.

Gulfstream Petroleum Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Fuel Systems Engineer to support our growing petroleum construction and fuel systems business.

Gulfstream specializes in the installation, replacement, removal, and commissioning of ASTs, USTs, petroleum piping, and fuel systems supporting emergency and standby generators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings and specifications for scope, constructability, and potential conflicts
  • Estimating projects, perform technical reviews, scope gaps, RFIs, and equipment requirements
  • Review AST/UST, generator fuel, day tank, remote fill, pump, piping, venting, and monitoring systems
  • Perform technical calculations including pump sizing, pipe sizing, flow, pressure loss, and venting
  • Prepare and review equipment submittals, shop drawings, schedules, and technical documentation
  • Evaluate tanks, pumps, valves, controls, leak detection, and related fuel-system equipment
  • Support permitting, inspections, and AHJ technical requirements
  • Work with project managers and field personnel to resolve RFIs and field conflicts
  • Coordinate technical issues with Engineers of Record, GCs, owners, manufacturers, and generator suppliers

  • Help develop Gulfstream's installation standards, QC checklists, testing procedures, and technical best practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering, construction, or fuel-system experience
  • Experience with AST/UST systems, petroleum piping, diesel fuel systems, or emergency-generator fuel systems strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable NFPA, environmental, fire-code, and AST/UST requirements
  • Strong construction and field problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with estimators, PMs, field crews, engineers, manufacturers, and customers
Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an engineer who understands how fuel systems are actually built, not just how they appear on drawings. The ideal candidate can review an engineered system, identify scope and constructability issues, support equipment selection and procurement, solve field problems, and help ensure the completed system operates as intended.

Experience with hospitals, data centers, utilities, airports, government, industrial, or other mission-critical facilities is a plus.

What We Offer
  • Exposure to high profile critical infrastructure projects
