Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Bastrop, Texas, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the full hardware lifecycle for Starmind satellites, from concept through high-volume production and on-orbit operation. You will develop design criteria, optimize system-level performance, and iterate designs to steer product direction for deployable radiators, solar arrays, and mechanisms.

Strong CAD/FEA experience and 1+ years in mechanical design are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required.
Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
1+ years of mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Own hardware from conceptual design through high volume production and on-orbit operation.
Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization.
Iterate on designs and analysis to inform trades and steer product direction.
Design for high volume with robust DFM and reduced part counts.
Establish an efficient product lifecycle from supply chain to integration.
Perform environmental and performance testing to validate criteria.
Own product delivery timeline from conception to launch.
Demonstrate ownership of product outcomes at every stage.
