Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support the Engineering and Infrastructure Major Projects team at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The role is field-facing, coordinating maintenance and sustainment for critical launch processing infrastructure.

Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and executing work on mechanical and structural facility systems, with focus on movable platforms, doors, actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to write clear technical scope documents.
  • Strong organization skills for tracking multiple systems and projects.
  • Coordinate work across multiple groups and disciplines.
  • Communicate technical issues and project status clearly to various audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance, repair, and sustainment work for launch infrastructure.
  • Focus on mechanical and structural facility systems within the Vertical Integration Facilities and Space Launch Complex 41.
  • Use engineering judgment and project management skills to keep launch infrastructure safe and ready.
