Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Cape Canaveral Space Force Station seeks a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support the Engineering and Infrastructure Major Projects team. This field-facing role plans, coordinates, and executes maintenance and sustainment work for critical launch processing and support infrastructure.

The position focuses on mechanical and structural facility systems within VIF and SLC 41, including movable platforms, doors, hydraulics, actuators, and related systems, requiring strong project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Understanding of drawings, specs, manuals, and procedures.
• Ability to write clear technical scope documents and explain work.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Strong organizational skills for multiple systems and projects.
• Ability to coordinate across groups and communicate technical issues clearly.
• Ability to work at heights and support off-hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the Engineering and Infrastructure Major Projects team at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance, repair, and sustainment of launch infrastructure.
• Focus on mechanical and structural facility systems in the Vertical Integration Facilities and Space Launch Complex 41.
• Apply engineering judgment, documentation, contractor coordination, and project management to ensure readiness.
