Job summary

John Galt Staffing is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer for a hands-on role in Waltham, MA. The ideal candidate has a BS in mechanical engineering, 5+ years of hands-on design and development, and strong Creo proficiency for production release documentation.

Expertise in tight-tolerance electro-mechanical packaged products and GD&T is essential. Knowledge in FEA/CFD, fluidics, heat transfer, or shock and vibration is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSME required with 5+ years of hands-on design and development.
• Experience designing tight-tolerance electro-mechanical packaged products.
• Proficiency with Creo for production release documentation.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience in tolerance analysis, FEA/CFD, fluidics, heat transfer or shock and vibration preferred.

This position is a hands-on technical role with substantial multi-disciplinary product development experience for a tight-tolerance packaged device.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and perform mechanical engineering design and analysis.
• Create detailed designs/documentation to meet project objectives.
• Interface with vendors for prototyping, tooling & production.
• Test and evaluate prototypes, tooling and first articles.
• Create project and technical reports as required.

Requirements

• BSME
• 5+ years of hands-on work in engineering design and development.
• Hands on experience designing tight-tolerance electro-mechanical packaged products.
• Demonstrated professional use and proficiency with a recent version of Creo required, and preparing engineering documentation for production release.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T
• On-the-job analysis experience in at least three of the following areas preferred: Tolerance analysis, FEA and/or CFD, Fluidics design, Heat transfer, Shock & vibration
