Job summary

Design Engineers in Cedar Rapids, IA and Madison, WI invites a Mechanical Engineer to join our team on an in-person, full-time basis. You will investigate, design, and construct HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects, coordinating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a mechanical engineer in building system design.
• In-person, full-time role located in Iowa and/or Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues.
• Lead mechanical systems design including fire suppression, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Perform and/or direct calculations for HVAC loads, duct sizing, pipe sizing, ventilation requirements, etc.
• Provide direction to designers and BIM technicians for preparation of drawings detailing the design.
• Coordinate work with Clients and design team members of other disciplines.
• Create/prepare reports.

Position Type: In-Person/ Full-Time

Position: Mechanical Engineer position involved with the investigation, design, and construction of building heating, ventilating, air-conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them.
• Lead mechanical systems design including fire suppression, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Perform and/or direct calculations for HVAC loads, duct sizing, pipe sizing, ventilation requirements, etc.
• Provide direction to designers and BIM technicians for preparation of drawings detailing the design.
