Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-paced, multi-discipline team responsible for designing HVAC systems for data centers, commercial, telecom, and education facilities.

You will develop system designs, perform load calculations, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver coordinated projects, while traveling up to 40% for local client sites. A industry-relevant degree and EIT/PE consideration apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-5 years experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registration as EIT or PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC system designs for projects based on scope or client RFPs.
• Perform load/energy calculations per client standards.
• Survey existing buildings and document HVAC systems.
• Prepare design documents, reports and studies.
• Ensure code compliance research is completed.

Job Summary:

Our office in San Jose, CA is looking foraMechanicalEngineertoworkin a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment with primary responsibility to engineer and design projectsfor Data Centers, Commercial, Telecom, Education, and other highly sophisticated facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop HVAC system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPs
• Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of market types
• Conduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing HVAC systems
• Perform Load/Energy calculations with a variety of software as dictated by Client standards.
• Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
• Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies
• Complete code compliance research
• Collaborate with teammates from other design disciplines to deliver a well-coordinated project.
• Provide construction administration services

Skills:

• Proficiency in using engineering tools and software including Autodesk software
• Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire to learn and grow.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to travel

Location:

Travel: Up to 40% to mainly local client sites

The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $105,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
