A leading company is seeking an Opto-Mechanical Engineer for a 12-month contract opportunity focused on developing wearable hardware. This role will entail leading mechanical engineering efforts for sensor integration and ensuring design quality throughout the product lifecycle. Candidates should possess a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering along with experience in 3D CAD and electromechanical systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX, Creo, SolidWorks).
• 5+ years of advanced design or R&D experience with electromechanical sensors.
• Experience with manufacturing techniques (machining, 3D printing, injection molding).

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Engineering workstreams for electromechanical sensor integration onto wearable hardware.
• Deliver robust mechanical designs from concept to production.
• Engage with stakeholders to produce high-quality prototypes meeting project specifications.

Description

Opto-Mechanical Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Lead Mechanical Engineering workstreams for electromechanical sensor integration onto wearable hardware, ensuring all mechanical aspects of development, performance and reliability are met ensuring program success.

Work across a full technology and product development cycle to deliver robust mechanical designs from concept to production.

Partner with cross-functional researchers and engineers develop wearable architectures for AR/VR interaction.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to produce high-quality prototypes which meet project specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar

3+ years of experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX, Creo, SolidWorks)

5+ years of advanced design or R&D experience with electromechanical sensors

Demonstrated experience to apply first principles to complex technical problems

Demonstrated experience with manufacturing techniques (machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)

Demonstrated experience with PCB/PCBA, FPC/FPCA design and integration

Experience with NX CAD

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $61.48/hour - $76.85/hour.
