Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years in mechanical design and analysis of complex hardware systems.
  • Experience with industry-standard 3D CAD software and FEA.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and mechanisms, performing analyses to optimize performance and manufacturability.
  • Execute detailed design activities according to standards and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration, verification, and testing.
  • Work with external suppliers to define requirements, review designs, and track progress.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documents, interfaces, and test procedures.
  • Define and validate mechanical interfaces between subsystems and components.
  • Support qualification and environmental testing activities (vibration, thermal, etc.).
  • Investigate hardware issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions.
  • Present findings and design updates during reviews.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and innovative design solutions.

Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of precision mechanical sub-systems such as mechanisms, actuators, hinges etc, for Spacecraft applications.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, innovative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to bring complex mechanical systems from design to operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and mechanisms, performing analyses and trade studies to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Execute detailed engineering design activities in accordance with established engineering standards, processes, and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, assembly, verification, and testing activities.
  • Work with external suppliers and manufacturing partners by defining requirements, reviewing designs, and tracking development progress.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including requirements, drawings, interface definitions, and test procedures.
  • Define, manage, and validate mechanical interfaces between subsystems and components.
  • Support qualification and environmental testing activities, including vibration, thermal, and other validation efforts.
  • Investigate hardware issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Present technical findings, design updates, and recommendations during engineering reviews.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, emerging technologies, and innovative design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis involving complex hardware systems.
  • Experience with industry-standard 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis techniques and tools, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working in highly regulated, high-performance, or advanced technology industries.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary systems that incorporate electrical, software, or controls engineering.
  • Experience supporting products throughout the full development lifecycle, from concept through testing and delivery.
  • Experience using PLM, PDM, or similar engineering data management systems.
