Job summary

X4 Engineering in Houston is looking for Mechanical / Product Engineers at all levels to own end-to-end mechanical systems for mobile power generation packages. You will design, develop and hand over equipment from concept through commissioning in the field, with travel to site as needed.

The role requires collaboration across design, manufacturing, procurement and field service, and offers progression from product engineer to senior/lead levels in a hands-on setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience with GE, Siemens or Solar gas turbines and/or Caterpillar or MTU engines and their auxiliary systems.
• Comfortable reading and marking up engineering drawings.
• Able to work across design, manufacturing, procurement and field service.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical systems for power generation packages end to end.
• Design and develop mechanical subsystems and their auxiliaries (lubrication, hydraulic, fuel, air intake/exhaust, structure).
• Coordinate between design and manufacturing, and support commissioning and on-site troubleshooting.
• Review component specs and drawings and provide sign-off on final release.

Mechanical / Product Engineer – Power Generation Packages (All Levels) – Houston, TX

We're hiring Mechanical/Product Engineers, from early career through senior, for a growing power generation equipment manufacturer in the Houston area. This is package engineering, not a desk job. You'll own mechanical systems for mobile power generation packages end to end, from concept design and P&IDs through to commissioning and handover in the field.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and developing mechanical systems for gas turbine and reciprocating engine driven power packages, plus their auxiliary systems (lubrication, hydraulic, starting, fuel, air intake/exhaust, structural, acoustic enclosures)
• Acting as the engineering link between design and manufacturing on new build mobile power and battery storage packages
• Supporting commissioning, FAT prep, and onsite/remote troubleshooting on deployed equipment
• Owning component specs, drawing reviews and redlines, with sign off authority on final release (more senior candidates)
• Contributing to new product development and improving existing product lines

What we need:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with GE, Siemens or Solar gas turbines and/or Caterpillar or MTU reciprocating engines and their auxiliary systems, anywhere from a couple of years to 15+, we're hiring across levels
• Comfortable reading and marking up engineering drawings
• A team player who can work across design, manufacturing, procurement and field service
