Job summary

PIC Group, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership for gas turbine power generation projects across large industrial facilities and data centers.

You will lead technology evaluation, equipment selection, engineering, installation, commissioning, performance optimization, and cross‑functional coordination with OEMs, EPCs, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience with gas turbines in power generation.
• Experience with gas turbine design, installation, commissioning, performance, and related auxiliary systems.
• Experience with gas turbine OEMs, including technology evaluation, equipment selection, RFP development, technical bid evaluation, and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluation, selection, and integration of gas turbines and related mechanical systems for power projects.
• Develop technical scopes and specs for gas turbine RFPs; evaluate OEM proposals and negotiate clarifications.
• Review gas turbine system designs, specs, performance requirements, and interfaces with balance‑of‑plant systems.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, controls, and project teams for integration with plant design and hybrid energy systems.
• Provide oversight during procurement, installation, commissioning, startup, and performance testing.
• Analyze turbine performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle cost.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for turbine issues during project execution and plant operations.
• Coordinate with OEMs, EPCs, suppliers, and operations to resolve issues and ensure safety and engineering standards.

• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience supporting gas turbines in power generation applications.
• Strong experience with gas turbine design, selection, installation, commissioning, performance, and associated auxiliary systems.
• Experience working with gas turbine OEMs, including technology evaluation, equipment selection, RFP development, technical bid evaluation, and project execution.

This position will lead gas turbine technology evaluation, equipment selection, engineering, installation, commissioning, performance optimization, and technical support while coordinating with OEMs, EPC contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluation, selection, and integration of gas turbines and associated mechanical systems for power generation projects.
• Develop technical scopes and specifications for gas turbine RFPs, evaluate OEM proposals, and lead technical clarifications and negotiations.
• Review gas turbine system designs, equipment specifications, performance requirements, and mechanical interfaces with balance-of-plant systems.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, controls, and project teams to ensure proper integration of gas turbines with overall plant design and hybrid energy systems.
• Provide technical oversight during equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, startup, and performance testing.
• Analyze turbine performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, availability, and lifecycle cost.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for gas turbine mechanical and performance issues during project execution and plant operations.
• Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, suppliers, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and engineering standards.

Job Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty, aeroderivative, and/or industrial gas turbines and associated auxiliary systems.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, gas turbine performance, and mechanical system design.
• Experience with gas turbine performance analysis, troubleshooting, reliability, and optimization.
• Experience managing technical scopes from project development through engineering, construction, and commissioning.
• Familiarity with gas turbine performance and engineering tools such as Thermoflow, GT PRO, AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar software.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related discipline required.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience with gas turbine power generation.
• Simple-cycle and/or combined-cycle project experience preferred.
• Gas turbine commissioning, startup, operations, or maintenance experience preferred.
