Job description

A rapidly expanding energy technology organization is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design, build, and evolution of turbine-based power generation systems. This role offers the chance to work closely with multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, playing a meaningful part in advancing next-generation equipment and supporting long-term business growth.

This position is well-suited to an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, ownership of complex projects, and contributing to product innovation in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the mechanical design lifecycle for power generation assemblies, from early concept through validation and deployment.
  • Drive technical execution of engineering initiatives, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Apply core mechanical engineering fundamentals to address manufacturing, reliability, and integration challenges.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select components and sub-systems for new equipment builds, balancing cost, availability, and technical fit.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to support equipment upgrades, redesigns, and new product releases.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external suppliers and technical partners.
  • Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements related to efficiency, durability, and lifecycle cost.
  • Stay informed on applicable industry codes, standards, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to less experienced engineers, supporting knowledge transfer and best practices.
Experience & Technical Background
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Approximately 10+ years of professional engineering experience, including direct involvement in turbine or rotating equipment systems.
  • Proven background in mechanical design, build support, testing, and root-cause troubleshooting of power generation equipment.
  • Working knowledge of supplier engagement, component sourcing, and engineering-to-manufacturing interfaces.
  • Comfortable operating in a growth-oriented environment with evolving processes and priorities.
Attributes & Working Style
  • Energized by fast-moving technical environments and comfortable taking ownership.
  • Naturally analytical, with the ability to break down complex challenges and propose practical solutions.
  • Self-directed and commercially aware, with a builder’s mindset.
  • Demonstrates strong integrity, professionalism, and a customer-focused approach to engineering.
  • Collaborative communicator who contributes ideas openly and constructively.
  • Confident yet humble, with a willingness to challenge assumptions and learn continuously.
  • Pragmatic, dependable, and team-oriented, with a strong work ethic and long-term perspective.
