Job summary

Lindquist Machine Co., LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will own the project arc from concept through installation and startup. The role targets someone with 8+ years in industrial equipment or custom machinery and a proven ability to lead technical decisions rather than just execute.

You will design in 3D CAD, leverage sheet metal and welding expertise, and drive validation and field troubleshooting across multiple projects while coordinating with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience with industrial equipment, automation, or custom-engineered systems.
• Deep sheet metal and welded-structure design experience.
• Strong 3D CAD skills and a track record of leading technical decisions, not just following them.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems in 3D CAD, with the tolerances and documentation to back them up.
• Apply deep sheet metal and welding expertise to build solutions that are as manufacturable as they are innovative.
• Reverse-engineer existing equipment to squeeze out better performance and reliability.
• Run FAT/SAT testing, prototype validation, and troubleshoot system-level issues in the field.
• Manage multiple projects at once.
• Partner directly with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to turn requirements into real engineered solutions.
