MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to partner with Operations and support process improvements for the Optical Filters Business Unit. You will report to the Production Manager and contribute to CNC machine implementation, design analysis, and feasibility testing for new and modified designs.

The role emphasizes experience with CNCs, G-code, optics processing, and robotics/automation, with the potential to lead design testing and prototype fabrication efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• At least two years of experience with CNC machines.
• Ability to write G-code programming.

In this role, you will report to the Production Manager.You Will Make an Impact By:• Supporting implementation of new CNC machines and develops capabilities of existing equipment• Designing and analyzing mechanical systems, equipment and packaging• Conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs• May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabricationSkills You Bring:• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering• At least two years of experience with CNC machines• Ability to write G-code programmingPreferred Skills:• Experience processing optics and/or glass substrates• Ability to operate and troubleshoot CNC machines• Experience commissioning new CNC machines and developing tailored cutting processes* Experience with robotics and automation systems. Experience with PLCsPhysical Demands and Working Conditions:• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs• Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 pounds• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time• Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level• Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand• Must be able to exchange accurate informationSalary Pay Range: $81,675 - $90,000 per year.
