Job summary

MKS Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to partner with Operations and support process improvements for the Optical Filters Business Unit. You will report to the Production Manager and drive design, testing, and deployment of CNC-driven manufacturing improvements.

The role emphasizes CNC machine implementation, feasibility studies, and hands-on development of equipment and packaging, with opportunities to lead small teams in prototyping and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least two years of experience with CNC machines.
• Ability to write G-code programming.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Mechanical Engineer at MKS Inc., you will partner with Operations to support process improvement efforts for the Optical Filters Business Unit. In this role, you will report to the Production Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Supporting implementation of new CNC machines and develops capabilities of existing equipment


• Designing and analyzing mechanical systems, equipment and packaging


• Conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs


• May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication

Skills You Bring:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering


• At least two years of experience with CNC machines


• Ability to write G-code programming

Preferred Skills:

• Experience processing optics and/or glass substrates


• Ability to operate and troubleshoot CNC machines


• Experience commissioning new CNC machines and developing tailored cutting processes


• Experience with robotics and automation systems. Experience with PLCs

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time


• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs


• Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination


• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 pounds


• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time


• Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level

Salary Pay Range:

$81,675 - $90,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus:

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
