Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

We collaborate with project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of large solar projects worldwide. Our team includes solar-industry veterans, newcomers, thought-leaders, dreamers, software, electrical and mechanical engineers, coders, product managers, project managers, and sales and marketing professionals. Responsibilities
  • Innovate solutions to improve solar utility power plant installation efficiency.
  • Design, develop, manufacture, and install mechanical components or systems.
  • Iterate designs rapidly to find optimal configurations.
  • Perform analysis and validation of mechanical designs using hands-on problem-solving and engineering best practices.
  • Manage all phases of product development from concept to production, including vendor management.
  • Contribute to team projects through collaborative reviews.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5 years of product development experience.
  • Hands-on prototyping and troubleshooting experience with mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods like sheet metal forming, machining, casting, weldments, and injection molding.
  • High proficiency in CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and GD&T.
  • Experience with finite element analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, SolidWorks Simulation).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make solid decisions.
  • Self-motivated with a comprehensive understanding of design projects.
  • Willingness to work remotely, with 25% travel to customer/vendor sites along the West Coast.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of motion control systems, pneumatics/electric actuators, and motor sizing.
  • Understanding of utility-scale solar project execution.
  • Ability to perform structural calculations on metal structures.
  • Familiarity with machine tools and shop practices.
