Job summary

A3 Staffing is seeking an engineer to contribute to the design and development of complex energy management systems for isolated mechanical structures in Buffalo, NY. You will apply mechanical and structural design principles and perform kinematic motion analysis.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design, detailing, budgeting, and project execution.
  • Travel to support programs and on-site reviews or testing.
  • Work with export-controlled information and hardware in accordance with applicable U.S. regulations.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design and development of complex energy management systems for isolated mechanical structures.
  • Apply mechanical and structural design principles and kinematic motion analysis.
  • Interpret application requirements and operating conditions, even when information is incomplete, and translate them into viable engineering solutions.
  • Select and design components such as springs (mechanical and fluid), dampers, and isolators from the ground up, ensuring required performance and adequate strength.
  • Use 3D CAD tools to model components and assemblies and create detailed engineering documentation.
  • Utilize simulation and analysis software to validate designs and predict system performance.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, engineering reports, and documentation for designs, analyses, and tests.
  • Support commercial activities, including bids, proposals, and cost/feasibility evaluations for new projects.
  • Interface directly with customers and suppliers to clarify technical requirements, present concepts, and refine solutions in response to feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal, cross‑functional teams on design, detailing, analysis, budgeting, and project execution.
  • Provide engineering support to projects in sectors such as aerospace, defense, structural applications, and industrial systems.
  • Use ERP and internal business systems to manage engineering data, part records, and project information.
  • Travel as needed to support programs, attend meetings, and participate in on‑site reviews or testing.
  • Work with export‑controlled information and hardware in accordance with applicable U.S. regulations.
