Job summary

Dematic, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. This role involves completing designs for integrated hardware/software systems and project engineering at customer sites.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of progressive experience in the material handling/automation industry, demonstrating strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD. The position encompasses travel up to 25% to various locations.

What You Will Do in this Role

• Complete the design of sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software
• Complete sophisticated material specification, layout/drawing preparation, and appropriate follow‑up
• Make recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
• Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design
• Identify and resolve more complex problems and apply problem‑solving skills to deal with most situations
• Project Engineering and commissioning at customer sites
• Communicate, train, and work with customers for final system design
• Travel up to 25% to different customer locations/Dematic locations

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• 10+ years of successful experience in the related field and a proven record of the responsibilities and knowledge outlined above; advanced degree may substitute for experience
• Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD
• Experience in the material handling/automation industry
• Experience in a project‑based Mechanical Engineering position (design to installation)
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to delegate effectively
• Understanding of project schedule and budget for Mechanical Engineering functions
• Capable of leading multiple small or mid‑sized projects
