The role involves translating requirements into viable engineering solutions, selecting and designing springs, dampers, and isolators, using 3D CAD, performing simulations, and preparing technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or contributing to energy management or related mechanical systems.
• Ability to translate incomplete requirements into viable engineering solutions.
• Experience preparing engineering reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of complex energy management systems for isolated mechanical structures.
• Apply mechanical and structural design principles and kinematic motion analysis.
• Interpret requirements and operating conditions and translate into viable solutions.
• Select and design springs, dampers, and isolators to meet performance and strength.
• Use 3D CAD tools to model components and assemblies and create documentation.
• Validate designs using simulation and analysis software.
• Prepare technical specifications, engineering reports, and test documentation.
• Interface with customers and suppliers to clarify requirements and refine solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design, detailing, budgeting, and project execution.
• Travel to support programs and on-site reviews or testing.
• Work with export-controlled information and hardware in accordance with applicable U.S. regulations.
