Job summary

LVI Associates in Boston is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for complex building projects, delivering high-performance building solutions across education, healthcare, and laboratory sectors.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform calculations, contribute to energy modeling, and support construction administration while growing professionally in a mentorship-focused, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited bacheloregree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
  • Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for complex buildings.
  • Proficiency with Revit and BIM workflows preferred.
  • Professional licensure or certifications (PE, EIT/FE, LEED) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs for complex building projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations, loads analysis, and detailed design documentation across project phases.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and architectural teams during the design process.
  • Support energy analysis efforts and implement sustainable, high-performance design strategies.
  • Conduct site surveys and assist with construction administration activities including RFIs and submittal reviews.
  • Prepare technical reports, narratives, and supporting project documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system designs for complex building projects

  • PE license, EIT/FE certification, LEED accreditation, or energy modeling experience are a plus
