Job summary

QC Conveyors, a Duravant Company, designs and manufactures conveyor systems for automated manufacturing across North America. This Mechanical Engineering role covers all phases from concept through production, including BOMs, vendor communication, assembly support, and change management.

Ideal candidates hold a BSME/BSMET or an associate degree with extensive 3D solid modeling experience, and are proficient with GD&T and ANSI drawings.

Qualifications

• BSME/BSMET or associate degree with 5–10 years 3D modeling experience.
• Experience interpreting GD&T per ANSI Y14.5 on drawings.
• Ability to work in office and production settings.
• Strong multi-tasking and cross‑department communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop basic 3D CAD models and layouts for new and existing products.
• Create and modify component drawings following standards.
• Organize components and assemble documentation including BOMs.
• Apply drawing requirements so parts can be manufactured and assembled.
• Review and update drawings per project needs and feedback.
• Support Sales with technical information for customers and projects.
• Coordinate with suppliers to gather component/material data.
• Assist with setup/assembly of conveyors and prototypes for testing.
• Record measurements and test results to aid product development.
• Maintain work instructions and internal reference materials.

Position Summary

This Mechanical Engineering will be responsible for all phases of conveyor applications and special design in both 3D design space and a production environment.

Projects will initiate with technical assistance to sales, design to specification, manufacturing details, bill of material production, vendor communication, assembly support, issue resolution, and change management.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop basic 3D CAD models and layouts for new and existing products.
• Prepare and modify component drawings and other design documentation using established standards.
• Help organize product components and create assembly documentation, including Bills of Material.
• Apply basic dimensional and drawing requirements to ensure components can be manufactured and assembled properly.
• Review existing drawings and make updates or corrections based on project requirements and feedback.
• Provide basic technical information and documentation to assist the Sales team with customer and project requests.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to gather information related to components, materials, and product requirements.
• Assist with the setup and assembly of conveyor systems and prototypes for testing and evaluation.
• Record measurements, observations, and test results to help support product development and improvement.
• Prepare and maintain basic work instructions, procedures, and other internal documentation.
• Help develop and update product information and reference materials used by internal teams and customers.
• Follow established engineering practices, company procedures, and quality standards while completing assigned work.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

• BSME/BSMET from an accredited university or college with 1-5 years work experience OR associate degree and with 5-10 years experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical or industrial machine components
• Utilized GD&T and ANSI Y14.5 to interpret and technical drawings.
• Ability to work in both office and production environments.
• Experience managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Good communication with multiple departments and outside parties
