Blueprint Consulting Engineers is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their MEP team. This is not a remote position.

Blueprint Consulting Engineers is an experienced MEP engineering firm based in Austin, specializing in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems design for commercial, institutional, industrial, and mixed‑use developments across Texas. We partner with architects, developers, contractors, and owners to deliver innovative, practical, and high‑quality engineering solutions for complex building projects.
Responsibilities
- Project management and support the design of HVAC and mechanical systems for various projects, including commercial, municipal, and industrial buildings
- Prepare and coordinate load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork/piping layouts, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal MEP disciplines
- Manage portions of projects as a task manager or project manager, including scope, schedule, and budget
- Serve as primary contact for portions of projects and support overall client relationship management
- Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on large scale HVAC and mechanical design
- Support and participate in RFQs/RFPs, proposals, and business development efforts
- Ensure design quality through QA/QC processes and adherence to applicable codes (FBC, energy compliance, etc.)
- Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and successful project delivery
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to ensure design integration and smooth project execution
- Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and reports
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to implement cutting‑edge solutions in designs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 4–15 years of mechanical engineering experience, specifically in design and consulting
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required
- Strong proficiency in mechanical design software and tools, including AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry‑standard programs
- Familiarity with Texas codes and local coordination
- Experience with HVAC systems (airside, hydronic, ventilation, controls coordination), Plumbing systems (water, sanitary, gas), Energy compliance tools (e.g., COMcheck or similar)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a team; collaborating with junior and senior staff
